Expected impact

Outputs – 24 peer support groups will be facilitated for a group size of up to10 people (once every fortnight, for new and repeat visitors) and the 1:1 sessions funded will be a block of 6 sessions for 7 people. We estimate that 37 people will be directly supported in the first 6 months of funding, the indirect impact of this support will be felt by all their family and friends and for many years Outcomes – We know that bereavement support can help people cope with the loss of someone they care about. It can provide emotional, mental, and physical benefits to bereaved families and loved ones, such as reducing risks of mental health related problems and illnesses and can even save lives. It can also reduce the socio-economic costs of bereavement that affects us all. Impact- Your funding will ensure that anyone in the City who has lost a loved one to cancer will have access to expert bereavement support.
