We are a village cricket team established in 1838 with the aim of providing recreational and competitive cricket for a range of abilities and ages. Over the last two years we have looked to significantly increase our impact in the local community with our facilities hosting a range of community activities. However we are facing significant financial headwinds that threaten the longer term sustainability of the club. Our energy costs have become so high they threaten our ability to continue to operate our volunteer activities for the local community. Our utility costs in 2022 (£8533) were 177% higher than 2021 (£3081).
Our research to date means we believe we can significantly cut our electricity costs through the installation of solar panels on our club house - an estimated annual saving of £1100 a year over 25 years. Not a sticking plaster solution but a permanent long lasting fix. We have been successful in securing a grant of £5000 from local charity Grange Farm Trust for a solar based project if we can ensure it is match funded in line with their aims with regard to sustainability and community provision.
We have been running now for over 150 years. weve done the research and engaged solar providers in assessing feasibility and getting quotes. We are in fact ready to go. So help us get going!!!!!
