Our school pond development will provide outcomes for: Local Wildlife: creating specific areas to encourage bees, minibeasts, birds, mammals and amphibians to visit our pond. Our pupils: Being outdoors is really impactful for managing stress, improving engagement with the curriculum, providing opportunities for children with Special Educational Needs to flourish. It has also been linked to increased life expectancy. Local volunteers: We will team up with Probus Environmental Action Team recently and their team of community volunteers. This will provide opportunities for people to work across generations and for knowledge and expertise about local wildlife to be passed down directly to the children. Our staff: Increasing confidence in delivering outdoor learning sessions and an increased variety of opportunities to link this to the curriculum.
