The Pitch

Problem statement

First off domestic abuse and attacks against women are happening too often. I want to run boxing classes where women can learn a self defense and exercise. There is also men in deprived areas that suffer from confidence and low self esteem. Exercise makes you feel good about yourself. So I want to run boxing classes that benefit men and women in need of these sessions. Making friends, combating loneliness, helping their mental and physical health.

The goal of the project is to offer boxing sessions to the community. Funding will be spent on qualified staff, renting a sports hall and buying equipment.

Why are we best placed to deliver?

Treasure Boxing Club was founded to do the work we are currently doing. We started working with kids and adults saw our sessions and asked if we could do them for adults. We are from the area. Our founder Ashley Theophane comes from a deprived background but worked his way to be British boxing champion and working with Floyd Mayweather for 5 years. He’s an inspiration in the community and he wants to give back to those in need.

Expected impact

The impact we want to make is giving our clients a self defense skill, helping their physical and mental health. Helping them to socialise and make friends. Stop them from being lonely. There are many young men that become involved in crime because of lack of activities. Having boxing sessions will possibly stop young men from getting involved in criminal activities. Our boxing sessions will have a positive impact on the community.
