The Pitch

Problem statement

Our changing rooms at the Eric Holder Pavilion are in a total state of disrepair and our boiler is unreliable. We received a fine recently from the Sussex F.A. because there was no hot water for a visiting referee.

Solution

We need to do a full refit on the changing room and showers at the Kingsfield Pavilion, so that they are functional, warm and welcoming. The Clubhouse also needs new a new boiler as it is very old and unreliable. We have been quoted so far: £2.5k to £3.5k for new boiler at Kingsfield Pavilion £6k quote for full refit if changing rooms / showers etc More detailed quotes are being chased. We are asking for £4,000 towards these repairs and Henfield F.C. will raise money for the shortfall.

Why are we best placed to deliver?

An example: delivering an outstanding Annual Football Tournament with the support of our community and dedicated Henfield F.C. voluneteers, parents and carers: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1092112555462020 https://henfieldbn5.co.uk/events/henfield-football-club-youth-tournament We have a 14 person strong committee that meet regularly. His email is james@henfieldfc.com Our village is a kind and caring place and the good will towards the Club is fantastic, especially because of our strong presence in the community at key events. Expected impact

By updating our facilities and boiler the Clubhouse would become more of a welcoming community facility, instead of just a men and women's team changing room. We would set a goal of opening the Clubhouse to the public during the week. For example, we would offer it out to be used for pre-schoolers & carers during the day, after school clubs and birthday parties. Plus, elderly residents who are lonely could use it free of charge for socials, like meeting up to play board games. In the colder months we could ask volunteers to offer it as a warm space where people can come a get a bowl of soup. We think if the space is inviting, people would be more likely to come to the Clubhouse bar on match days and support our teams and Club. Opening our Clubhouse to the community would encourage even more good will towards the Club, too. This facility would not be restricted to village residents but open to all areas in Sussex. A number of our players come from other village and towns.
