We expect to change individual mindsets & behaviours towards sustainable living, in turn contributing to change on a global scale - we have great power as consumers to drive change, as we vote & support with our spends & actions. Attendees will discover practical approaches to sustainable living, as well as learning what impacts our choices have. We will instil empowered creative mindsets towards sustainability - promoting the idea that everything is possible when leading a sustainable lifestyle if you take a creative positive approach. Our aims to have long-term effects on mindsets & behaviours can be challenging to monitor beyond the event. As quantifiable targets, we aim for 100 newsletter sign-ups, 200 activity participants, 50 pledges, 20 new members of our meet-up group and 50 downloads of our Superhero Checklist for becoming an everyday hero through small choices that can be made on a daily basis.
We previously run this project funded by Wandsworth Grant Fund and the Arts Council. There was a good level of engagement with the sustainability games, leading to inquisitive conversations and every player making a sustainability pledge on the community board. Adults mostly participated in the carbon footprint game & making eco-friendly cleaning products. For children, the superhero facepaint and painting activities were a triumph. People from all age groups & backgrounds watched & enjoyed the performances. We had requests for collaborations from local churches, councillors, businesses & schools, leading to the creation of our Human Superhero school programme. Our newsletter sign ups have rocketed, illustrating that the community would like to stay involved with Impact. We received feedback such as: "The kids have definitely been inspired" & “All your team are really great, everyone enjoyed the show & the little ones didn’t want it to stop, looking forward to the next event".
