It has been that we require an outdoor defibrillator. On game days we attract crowds of up to 1600 people many of whom are over 60. As rugby is a very physical game we need to be ready for all eventualities. On training days there can be in excess of 80 players training very hard. Our grounds are also open to the public and many take exercise there and often outwith opening times.
The goal of the project is to saves lives by offering emergency treatment in our remote location. The funding will be used to purchase a modern defibrillator and weather proof container and the services of a qualified electrician to install.
At Stirling County Rugby Football Club we take the health and safety of our players, members, staff and supporters very seriously. Although we do have a significant portion of our coaches and senior players first aid trained the defibrillators are designed to be used by the untrained.
