A lot of community members have learning difficulties or missed out on a good education meaning in adult life they may struggle with form filling and official documentation meaning they can decide on opportunities they have rights to apply for. In times of financial hardship domestic abuse can increase suicide levels can increase in marriages and relationships come right down. These can have negative impacts on families and children leading to abuse, neglect, Self harm and suicide attempts.
Moonstone support services will offer assistance to those in financial hardship with the ability to complete official forms and documentation to apply for grants or funding that may help. These grants offer help without the need to be paid back or offer monetary loans with no interest payments. Personal situations are evaluated and assessed to see what their needs are and to help them through the application process in order to obtain monies to the value of £500 max or household furniture. Moonstone support services will partner with NILS to offer this much needed help to those in financial crisis.
Moonstone Support Services are becoming recognised as a go to agency for support in mental health. Financial crisis is known to impact mental health. As an agency which has an open door, we offer non judgemental support and signposting to vulnerable communities. The CEO is a qualified Advocate & Mental Health Facilitator, empathetic, confident with a can do attitude to make communities come together, to blend and improve lives.

This will positively impact on vulnerable communities in financial crisis in assisting completing forms or official documentation to gain financial help in the form of 0% interest loans or grants to the value of £500. Grants do not need paying back. Savings will be assessed to ensure loan or grant value is less than savings value. Financial hardship can impact on mental health and cause family breakdowns, domestic abuse, increased crime, child abuse and suicide attempts. It is hoped that in helping people seek and apply for a 0% interest loan or grant with NILS it will form some financial assistance, provide mental relief and prevent family breakdowns or suicide attempts. This service will also offer budgeting advice for ongoing financial improvements.
In the last six months teenagers of 16 years o 18 years have advised Moonstone support services that their help in budgeting advice has helped considerably and they are far more aware of necessary purchases and the need to budget for these and emergencies before anything else and the provision of a spreadsheet template for budgeting as invaluable.
