Community development - outreach to children & seniors - children's welfare We want to place a bespoke shed at the entrance to our Allotments. This will enhance our existing small book exchange, playground development and green community projects. We are a vibrant community of historic railway cottages (350+) households. We also manage a very popular playground. The playground attracts 200+ family members on a sunny day. It serves a very diverse community attracting visitors from other local areas who have no play facilities. There are no nearby library facilities.
Provide a community managed book and toy exchange. Additionally our Allotment society will use this as focus to deliver its green message with children's plant information and starter kits. Install a community information point accessible to our diverse neighbourhood.
We are an active neighbourhood group. We manage the playground, book exchange and composting project. We host a very successful annual festival which attracts up to 750 visitors annually.
