Qualified Club Referees

Problem statement
There is a huge shortage of Referees in and around London , where we play. London FA alone is 1500 Referees short. There is a huge need for more qualified Referees.
Solution
I have a number of Club Referees who cover my lower X1 and Vets games each Saturday. They are fully competent but not actually qualified. We run 14 sides every Saturday. Without them players have to Referee the game which is not ideal.
Why are we best placed to deliver?
We do have a couple of qualified Referees who can mentor. The leagues we play in do provide FA approved Referee courses at local grounds which our Referees can attend to qualify. The cost of the course is £135. I have been Match/Referee Secretary for 30 years and each Saturday I see the issue with games covered with unqualified or poor Referees. With better qualified Officials there will be less incidents and games more enjoyable.

Expected impact
My lower X1’s and all Veterans sides would benefit as they would not have to provide a player to cover their game ! This allows for a fairer outcome and less administration for the captain/Manager. There will be less player incidents as a qualified Referee should get more respect and keep control better.
