Expected impact

Hospitality Horizons will create a clear pathway for local residents into the growing hospitality sector at Brent Cross Town, reducing barriers to work and supporting inclusive community growth. We expect 80 residents to engage in workshops, 50 to achieve accredited qualifications, and at least 25 to progress into employment, apprenticeships, or further training. The project will increase participants’ skills, confidence, and employability, particularly for those who are economically disadvantaged, from ethnic minority backgrounds, or facing other barriers. By embedding training within a supportive wellbeing environment, we will also improve participants’ mental health, resilience, and sense of belonging. The wider impact will be felt in the local economy, as trained residents take up roles in cafés, restaurants, and event spaces at Brent Cross Town. Employers will benefit from a pool of locally trained, job-ready candidates, helping to create a thriving, inclusive town centre.

Track record

Soham Community CIC has a proven history of delivering community wellbeing, yoga, and skills programmes that engage residents facing barriers to inclusion. In the past three years, we have supported over 300 local people through workshops, retreats, and community events, with participant surveys showing 92% reported improved confidence and 85% reported reduced social isolation. Our projects have successfully engaged groups often underrepresented in training, including women returning to work, young people not in education or employment, and residents from diverse ethnic backgrounds. One participant shared: “Soham gave me the confidence to try new things and feel part of the community again.” This track record demonstrates our ability to create safe, inclusive spaces where learning and wellbeing go hand in hand — a strong foundation for delivering hospitality-focused training that meets both community needs and emerging opportunities at Brent Cross Town.
