Expected impact

Our project would provide cricket for women who do not currently participate in the sport. We would be looking to provide cricket across three separate teams; one hardball 8-aside, one hardball 11-aside and one softball team (with approximately 20 members). We would also be providing opportunities and suitable training for volunteers to get involved with all of these teams, including roles as: team managers, scorers, umpires and match day coaches. We estimate that we would directly benefit 50 people with the potential to reach in excess of 70 members should our project take-off! We would indirectly benefit several hundred people, including the whole of Caythorpe Cricket Club's members and supporters, who will now have additional cricket to enjoy. We would also positively impact the local league structure by adding our additional teams.

Track record

Since our women's team was founded in 2020, we have engaged with over 25 women in sporting activity. Our team has been very successful winning both the East Midlands Women's Cricket League Division 1 and Super 8s trophies. We have also very recently won the Nottinghamshire Indoor Cricket League. With this success, it has sparked interest from both within and outside our club and we would like to build on this success and expand our women's section.
