The Pitch

Problem statement

We are a community Foodbank near the centre of town ( I started the F/B in 2014 ) we also operate a community fridge on a Monday morning empowering our users to Cooke healthy meals from items available through the fridge but also stoping the waste going to landfill. The supermarkets unfortunately are not able to donate their steel by dated products as they used to as the directive is to sell via ‘ good to go ‘ so we find ourselves in a position if we want to continue we would need to buy the fresh vegetables. We also provide a hot 2 course lunch for our senior members on the last Thursday of the month, Warm space weekly , drop in coffee .

Solution

We wish to provide Xmas Hampers ( Xmas dinner ) for all the vulnerable families that have been referred to us for help - this will include a Turkey and treats plus a gift for the children - we will be holding a Xmas party on the 14th Dec for the children with a visit from Santa .

Why are we best placed to deliver?

I have operated the F/B for over 10 yrs and my transferable skills as a ex military welfare officer assists me in triaging the many families that are referred to us by all Government agencies - we are well known and trusted within the community .
