The Pitch

Problem statement

Giving children 6 to 12 years old some sport activities after school. Many are from low income families in deprived areas. So it’s a free session for them. Many parents can’t afford to pay for activities so we provide it for free. The sessions help their mental health and physical health. They make friends and it brings the community together.

Solution

The goal of the project is to provide free sports sessions from children 6 to 12 years old. The fund will be spent of equipment, hall rental and staff. The impact is to help these children mental and physical health. Help them make friends and help their confidence.

Why are we best placed to deliver?

We are from the community. Born and raised. We want to give back to the young generation. Our founder Ashley Theophane was a boxing champion and he wants to help the young kids mental and physical health through sport. Our after school club is very popular, helping over one hundred children every week in our different locations.

Expected impact

Impact is helping children from low income families in a deprived area of London get access to sports activities. Helping their physical and mental health in the process. Helping the childrens mood and behavior away from our weekly sessions. Getting feedback from parents. Providing weekly sessions the kids look forward to and being a positive influence in the community. Giving free t shirts and trophies to the children puts a smile on their faces and gives them a sense of achievement.

Track record

Summer Camp and Christmas camp we had 100 kids attend our sessions. This is how our after school club started as the parents and children wanted our sessions during term time. We now have over 100 children and young people attend our service every week through our different locations. Funding is vital to help us do what we do and help the next generation and keeping them safe after school and doing something productive.
