Expected impact

Walking Football and Walking Netball helps people in their recovery after a stroke. Not just physically, but also mentally. It can be very lonely and isolating after a stroke, however we see strong bonds form and amazing peer support with these groups. We currently have 28 people in our Walking Football Group and 12 people in our Walking Netball. We hope that our Walking Netball will continue to grow over the next year. The postitive impact on peoples recovery will not only help these stroke affected individuals, but most certainly their close family members too, many of which take on a carers role. Some individuals have been encouraged by other members to explore other services that we provide to aid their recovery further such as our Physiotherapy Rehabilitation, Counselling and Stroke Support Groups, which is fantastic. We expect 90% of members to have improved confidence and feel better to cope with life and also 85% to feel they have improved their fitness over the next year.
