The Pitch

Problem statement

We are looking to purchase more equipment such as litter pickers and bag hoops, our group has grown and we need more equipment to allow everyone to participate. We have a few volunteers who live alone and these meet ups are a great way for them to come and talk, we never send someone off on their own, we create teams of similar ages so everyone has someone to talk to whilst litter picking

Solution

The money will be used to purchase more equipment as our group has grown from 10 volunteers to approx 60 over the last 6 months and we dont have enough equipment for everyone Litter pickers are £7.99 each, bag hoops are £7.74 each

Why are we best placed to deliver?

We have built up a community group and have become a recognised group within the local area, we currently hold litter picks every 6 weeks and the numbers of people joining keep growing. Our next pick is Sunday 9th June in association with The Great Big Green Week and the Big Help Out, we have the mayor of Runnymede attending our morning session and we plan to form at least 10 teams of litter pickers to clear all the roads we can within the area in one day, so far we have done sections but as we plan this one to be big we hope we can cover it all. We also have weekday litter picks for people who cant attend the sunday ones

Focus Areas

Delivery plan

20x bag hoops£155

20 people

Who will benefit

Older people (65 and over)
