Celebrate 'The Big Help Out' - We are a local community art and sport provider. We want to use 'The Big Help Out' weekend as an opportunity to bring the community together in something they are passionate about. Giving community members the chance to volunteer at our event on the 9th June 2024 where young people can access FREE sport / art sessions. Aimed at those 3-7 years old. All those leading the sessions will be volunteers and we hope this increases community engagement, community cohesion and allow young people who wouldn't necessarily be able to afford football or dance sessions to benefit from these free workshops.
The goal is to encourage new volunteers in aid of The Big Help Out weekend, to increase engagement and relationships within the Lambeth community and build on a network of people who are passionate about making a difference. The event will open up opportunities for young people and ensure there are no limitations to those wanting to take part in football and dance session. This is because the football and dance sessions will be free to all children wanting to attend. The funding will be used for administration leading up to the event; such administration includes but not limited to participation registrations, coaches coordination, volunteer scheduling and event marketing.
We have been providing community sport and art sessions (including community events) for the past 14 years in Lambeth and its surrounding boroughs. Our first academy branch was launched in Lambeth in 2010 so we have a good reputation across the Lambeth community which gives us a good understanding of the community members who will access this event and how young people and volunteers can benefit. Our relationship with other community groups means we believe we can not only have local volunteers but also professional sports coaches who will ensure the quality of event offered in extremely high taking into account the young people learning needs, safe guarding procedures/expectations and fun
Project Co-ordinator (time spent leading upto the event) - We have allocated 20 @ £15 an hour. Any time in addition to the 20 hours, will be voluntary time | £300 |

Those is the Lambeth community will be affected and we expect our project to: Increase volunteer involvement in The Big Help Out weekend Increase community engagement in sport / art sessions Provide an enjoyable activity to the community Allow young people and volunteers to develop their community relationship and tap into additional exit route opportunities so that this event can make a lasting difference. We aim to gather feedback forms from those who volunteer but also those who participate, which will also help us measure the impact
Please find a few quotes taken from previous projects from parents/cares of participants 'The classes have been fantastic, it’s really helped the girls to keep on top of their dancing. Grace [the teacher] was super, I would give her 10 out of 10 and the classes are 10 out of 10! Delivery and content is really well aimed at the girls and meeting their needs and she keeps them about dance which has been lovely to see. All positive from this end!’ 'My son absolutely loves going to your classes and has missed you so much during lockdown! ❤️ The classes give him more confidence and belief in himself that he can actually aim high. I love you guys!' Research from previous projects demonstrates 100% positive feedback with young people showing positive development in confidence, coordination, health/fitness. We have a decade of working/supporting volunteers from 16years old upwards. Often young people who have volunteered with us, have then gone into having a bigger role at the academy.
