Every person we help with free and low-cost veterinary care is financially disadvantaged, and a significant proportion are vulnerable through age or ill-health. Due to the escalating cost of living crisis, we’re seeing more people turn to PDSA for support. We aim to make a difference to people’s lives and enhance wellbeing in the local community. One of the areas in which your donation would make the greatest impact would be the funding of vital pet consultations.
Consultations are the crucial first step towards diagnosing and treating pets. It is also our opportunity to talk with pet owners and offer them guidance and support about their pet’s health. Bournemouth Pet Hospital delivered over 12,600 consultations in 2023. £2000 would cover the consultation costs of nearly 150 pets, ensuring we can continue to help the sick and injured pets of people in need in your local community.
PDSA is the UK's leading vet charity, helping people and their pets for over 100 years. Our network of hospitals throughout the UK have enabled us to have a huge impact on communities at a local level. Our Bournemouth hospital has been delivering services in the area since 1996. Last year, Bournemouth PDSA treated over 6400 pets and supported almost 5000 registered clients who are local to the area.

A donation of £2000 will impact, precisely, 150 pet owners and their families, funding these vital consultations where owners would otherwise not be able to afford to do so. This ensures that families are able to keep their much-loved pets and aren't forced to re-home or explore more drastic measures due to financial hardship.
Having provided our services in the local area for almost 30 years we have reliable data to support the work we carry out and the impact this is making.
