The Pitch
Problem statement
We are hoping to fund suitable beginner kits for new archers to the club. Currently with a new kit costing approx.£190 for the most basic metal starter kits, coupled with club and AGB fee's, it is a lot of money for low income archer to start. Prices sourced https://www.cbarchery.co.uk/ We are hoping to hold and therefore lend more suitable kits to our newest members to help get started. These lent kits allow time for newer members to save money to purchase kit. They can use the existing equipment to test out the type of kit they want and purchase used kit. We already have 2/3 kits available but they are old and badly need upgrading and replacing
Solution
A renewal of the existing Kits to allow more users to borrow over a longer time. Preferably 4-6 months. This solidifies their intent to stay with the club, clarifies we are wanting them to shoot as often as possible, as well as possible. We wish to have a "shop like" system were we can create a Kit Bag for a new member requiring to borrow kit. As they shoot and save, they can purchase items that fit alongside our kit and "swap out" over time. This will assist in making a better purchase decisions in the future and not waste money. Our existing Members are already donating their unused kit, we will happily purchase used kit wherever possible to keep costs low.
Why are we best placed to deliver?
We are a friendly and inclusive club who wish for everybody to safely enjoy a wonderful sport. We have invested in new outdoor targets to allow more archers to shoot each session. A secondary container with facilities to repair, prepare and test equipment has been purchased and solar powered for green energy usage. This ensures we can maintain the equipment to a high standard. Our equipment officer is dedicated to getting the club members self sufficient, this means not having to go to a shop for running repairs or fine tuning. We have the Lessons for the starters. We have the capacity for more archers. We have Coaches and Equipment officers. We are ready to help new archers.

Expected impact
Our goal is to allow the most amount of people to take up and enjoy archery across Calderdale. Any new member will now have suitable equipment available. This will help people month after month, year upon year. Archery is a highly accessible sport, one of the few that almost everyone, regardless of gender, age or ability, can enter, enjoy and potentially excel at. With variable distances to shoot, personal, club and national targets to attain, there is always a reason to go to the range. Drawing a bow takes energy, burning calories and toning and strengthening muscles in your arms and back. Walking to the shooting line and then to the target to collect arrows also burns energy and means you’ll get your steps in faster than you think. When exercise is enjoyable we’re more likely to do it ,and what could be more enjoyable than spending time with your club, shooting arrows and working on your aim?
