The Pitch

Problem statement

Our motivation in our rugby youth project and the specific needs it aims to address for the girls teams. In many regions, girls have less access to resources and opportunities in rugby compared to boys. Our project aims to create equal opportunities for girls by providing new equipment and kits. By doing so, we hope to enhance their experience, motivation, and participation in rugby. Statistics and facts show that only 19% of rugby players globally are female, and there is a significant gender gap in terms of resources and support provided to girls in the sport. Through this project, we aim to bridge that gap and empower girls to excel in rugby.

Solution

The goal of the girls rugby union project is to promote equal opportunities and support for girls in rugby. The funding raised will be primarily spent on purchasing new equipment and kits for the girls teams. This includes items such as rugby balls, training gear, jerseys, and protective equipment. By providing these resources, we aim to facilitate a better training environment and improve the overall experience for the girls. The expected impact of this project is to increase participation and engagement among girls in rugby, foster their development and skills, and ultimately, contribute to the growth of women's rugby.

Here are some of the changes and measurable targets we expect to achieve: 1. Empowering Girls: The project will provide a platform for girls to participate in rugby, promoting gender equality and breaking down barriers. Our target is to increase the number of girls actively involved in rugby by 20% within the first year. 2. Physical and Mental Well-being: Engaging in sports activities like rugby will contribute to the physical fitness and overall well-being of the girls. We aim to see a 15% improvement in participants' physical fitness levels based on pre- and post-program assessments. 3. Skill Development: The project will focus on developing rugby skills, teamwork, leadership, and resilience in the girls. Our goal is to have at least 80% of the participants demonstrate improved rugby skills and teamwork abilities by the end of the program.
