Description

Established in 1983 Maiden Lane is a vibrant community centre in Camden, providing a wide range of free services and activities for everyone in the community, catering for a wide range of interests and age groups. Located within the Maiden Lane Estate, supporting over 700 families in one of the 10% most deprived neighbourhoods in England, far behind attainment within Camden, with: 42.2% Children living in poverty (+6.2%) 13% Working age adults in receipt of out of work benefits (+3.7%) 41.7% Lone Parents in receipt of lone parents' allowance (+14.9%) We aim to benefit people living, working and studying in Camden Central. We run engaging and exciting youth programmes for local young people, including our Street Team reaching out to young people. We work with local families in need, run a project for BAME women, manage a green Social Enterprise and a Foodbank (in partnership with Sainsburys and Morrisons). We also house and support Camden Community Radio and the Camden Town Shed.
