Totnes Community Tennis Club provides tennis for all ages and abilities to the community of Totnes and the local area. Although affiliated to the governing body, LTA the club is entirely self funded. The courts and clubhouse are sited on the town's Borough Park which it leases from South Hams District council. There are nearly 200 members, 130 juniors, disability users and paying members of the public. The club believes tennis really is a sport that anyone can play and can be adapted for any level of ability, impairments or disability. It is essential that cost should not be a barrier to sport for everyone and so the club provides free weekly tennis sessions designed for adults and children with learning, sensory and physical disabilities and for those experiencing mental ill health. Strong links have been developed with Bidwell Brook Special School and Lifeworks Further Education College for students with learning disabilities.
