Anchorsholme Bowling and Social Club

Who we are

Description

The club was opened in 1976 by Roy Castle and was for over 60's. Due to work carried out by United Utilities in the park, the clubhouse was demolished and a new one was built and opened in 2017. Since then the club has been more open-minded and in August 2022 a bowling academy was established to attract younger players. This has been successful and besides young people, we now work with the disabled and those with learning difficulties. Our next project is to include local residents that may have issues with loneliness and want to meet new friends. The club is situated in a newly developed park area so we feel we are in a good position to give people the opportunity to have light exercise in the fresh air.
