Yellow Submarine

Who we are

Description

Yellow Submarine is a vibrant Oxfordshire charity, founded in 2009 which believes people with learning disabilities and Autism deserve to live life to the full. In 2019/20 we supported nearly 600 individuals, plus giving support and respite to families and carers. Specifically, we begin working with young people from the age of 11 through to adulthood to promote individuals’ confidence, build life-skills and develop independence. We run weekly evening social clubs, where, with experienced staff and skilled volunteer support, members develop friendships and social skills. We provide day-long outdoor activity days and excursions, and we also offer supported group residential/respite holidays, which are often a young person’s or adult’s first sustained time away from home, as well as giving true respite to families or carers. In our social enterprise cafes we provide sheltered workplace training which encapsulates our mission to promote employment for learning disabled people.
