Bristol Autism Support provides information, support and training for parents and carers of autistic children. We reduce the isolation felt by these families. We aim to empower autism parents and carers by providing information about local and national services, benefits, interventions and therapies and a wide range of related topics. Our work brings parents and carers together to share experiences and their unique knowledge of their child’s condition. Many parents and carers are managing some very challenging behaviours in their children, causing stress and anxiety for the entire family. Having a place to talk about and get help with these difficulties is extremely valuable and can help to improve mental and physical health. BAS currently provides a telephone helpline, training courses, weekly support groups, peer befriending, an online community, and information online and over the phone.
