North Edinburgh Arts

Who we are

Description

North Edinburgh Arts offers local residents a place to relax, explore, learn, meet, share, volunteer and have fun in. In the year to March 2020 over 40,000 visits were made to the venue that ‘floats like a bright bubble behind the Muirhouse shopping centre‘ (STV Local). NEA sits in the heart of Muirhouse, which ranks in the bottom 5% of the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation, ranked as the most deprived ward in the city (www.simd.org.2020). Thirty five hours of creative workshops were on offer each week, alongside a wide range of other events, many community led. Open for 55 hours a week the venue is also home to Muirhouse Link Up, North Edinburgh Drug and Alcohol Centre, and the Tinderbox Orchestra, all working to serve the most disadvantaged children, families and individuals in North Edinburgh. Our award winning venue incorporates two studios, a 96 seat theatre, recording studio, gallery, offices and the Pop In community café with children’s play area leading onto a large garden
