Who we are
Description
We are Designs in Mind - a working studio in Oswestry where adults from across Shropshire work together on exciting and ambitious art projects. We are not mental health professionals or art therapists, instead we provide a warm and encouraging environment for people to develop non-clinical coping mechanisms to increase wellbeing, build capacity for employment, and form peer support connections and friendships with a shared understanding of mental health. Our studio is a place where people can come to exist beyond the label of their diagnosis, proving to themselves that they are capable of far more than they think. We aim to provide a creative purpose to people living with mental health challenges, in order that they feel able a part of a community and able to take ownership of their future. We know we cannot replace statutory services, but we can work closer together to address the increasing need for community mental health support.
