Who we are
Description
We are an amateur sports club and a separately constituted sub-section of Askern Miners' Welfare Hall Sports and Recreation Ground - A Registered Charity No: 523474. We were formed in 1912 and have played every season since then with the exception of the War years. We have 2 Open age Saturday teams, 1 Open age midweek team, plus a Junior Section. We have a completely open policy with regard to membership. Since 1981, we have had junior teams in 40 consecutive years until the Covid Pandemic brought a temporary halt. We pride ourselves in the fact that for years now the majority of our first and second team players have come up through our own junior section. During the 2022 Schools Summer holiday we started taster sessions to rekindle the interest ready for season 2023. We also have a partnership arrangement with the local schools sports pyramid centered at Campsmount and each spring we host a Key Stage One Tournament on our ground with between 6 and 10 schools competing.
