Who we are
Description
Walkden Amateru Boxing Club is more than just a gym. We offer services to our community and provide a safe, sociable space to our young people, whilst encouraging them to be active, live a healthy lifestyle and know the importance of sport in their lives. From our little nippers class, for under 8 year olds, professional coaching and PT sessions our gym offers a wide range of classes to suit everybody. We originally opened in 2019 and became a registered chairty in 2022. Walkden ABC was the big dream brought to life by Jamie Moore - a former European, British, Irish, Commonwealth and European Light – middleweight Champion. The gym is run mainly by volunteers. Walkden ABC aims to improve lives in the local community both physically and mentally and also offers a focal point of positive diversionary activities in the area by engaging with young people and improving mental and physical wellbeing. Everyone is welcome and the growing membership shows how popular the gym is.
