Grounded Community

Who we are

Description

We are a grass roots group that has been developing our food growing project in Boscombe since 2013. Registered as a charity in January 2020, we operate in one of the most deprived areas in England. Our mission is to provide our urban community with the skills and resources they need to grow their own food; connecting people with nature, food and each other; building a collaborative, thriving neighbourhood with improved health and wellbeing, while redistributing food surplus to those in need.  Our presence and impact on our community is significant and we work to give everyone access to healthy, nutritious food, with a vision of an abundant circular food system and culture of storing, reusing, and redistributing food surplus while also healing ecosystems and increasing biodiversity.   Our focus is in providing skills & learning; encouraging community engagement; access to food and protecting our environment.
