Who we are
Description
Love North Southwark is a small charity working to provide food security to vulnerable households in Bermondsey and Rotherhithe. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Me and my team have supported multiple households including the elderly, shielding and victims of domestic violence with food parcels, as well as meals during the initial months. I was proud to have won the Southwark Stars Keib Thomas Active Citizen Award in 2020 International Women's Day: 2021 Bermondsey's Kathleen Heather on community spirit during COVID-19 - Southwark News printed 2021 Southwark Togetherness award 2022 I formalised the status of Love North Southwark as a CIC and established a food pantry. The pantry aims to reduce the stigma of food poverty by providing 12 items of groceries to vulnerable households for a small contribution of £5. Love North Southwark is now supporting around 120 families a week through the food pantry, as well as continuing to support elderly
