Himmah

Who we are

Description

Himmah is a local charity working to support communities experiencing food poverty through the provision of a foodbank and social supermarkets called "Peoples Pantry" and "FoodPrint" in Nottingham. We provide free food to people in crisis and then the social supermarkets where people pay a low price for the food they choose to buy helping people stretch their budgets when they are on a low income. We also provide hot meals in partnership with other faith groups such as the SaSH meal on a wednesday evening in Hyson Green. Our other work focuses on racial justice, education and wellbeing provision. This provision can vary according to what current projects we are delivering. We are also a founding member of Nottingham Citizens and through this alliance we are working on campaigns around mental health, education and fair pay - laterly through the promotion of the Living Wage Foundation campaign.
