Who we are
Description
You Press is an award-winning social enterprise based in London working with young people from minority backgrounds and underrepresented groups aged 16-30. We primarily work in East London, but our projects have regional, national, and international reach. We believe in the power of words and stories to change lives for the better and our mission is to use creative arts and writing to empower people to find their voice and be heard. This involves challenging stereotypes and stigmas about young people and communities through the creative arts, media, training, and writing. You Press now has two main functions: delivering charitable projects and providing creative services through our agency (through which we offer paid work opportunities to young people). Filmmaking, photography, and graphic design are just a few examples of the services we offer and most of the freelancers we employ through our agency are You Press project alumni.
