Trees for Cities

Who we are

Description

Trees for Cities wants to enable and inspire a new generation of individuals and communities who are resourced and motivated to plant, protect and promote urban trees. We do this by working closely with landowners, partners and funders to deliver transformational change in towns and cities - inspiring the next generation by greening schools, sharing ideas and knowledge and running inclusive community tree planting events across the UK. By getting stuck-in with local communities, we hope to connect urban populations with nature, cultivate lasting change and deliver the multiple benefits of urban trees for todays and future generations. Our Edible Playgrounds programme transforms school grounds into vibrant outdoor gardens that inspire hands-on learning and get children excited about growing and eating healthy food. We build the capacity of staff to teach outside helping pupils to increase their knowledge, skills and awareness of urban trees, nature and wider environmental issues.
