Honiton Community Action Group

Who we are

Description

We are a community group looking at ways Honiton can help the climate and ecological crises now upon us. We have started a Repair Cafe June 2022 to recycle, reuse and repair household items. We have declared Honiton a Hedgehog Champion Town, a wildlife survey I carried out discovered a relatively large and well distributed population of urban hedgehogs. We are creating a 'Green Corridor' through Honiton, by adopting small green spaces, increasing the biodiversity of landscapes and promote health and well-being for the residents; while reducing and locking in carbon. We have taken on the management of the Hospice Care Day Centre Garden. We further aim by practical actions to educate the public and enshrine a respect of our environment, and duty of care throughout our town. Further projects either in progress or being planned is Honiton Swift project, We are surveying areas and putting up swift boxes. We are going to be adding St. Michaels Churchyard to the Devon wide project.
