Who we are
Description
We support children under 5 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families. We run 3 specialist centres in Berkshire, with plans underway to open a fourth in Gloucestershire in 2023, and directly help over 480 children and families every year. We were set up in 1983 by local families who wanted their children to benefit from play and early education in the same way as young children without disabilities do. Our mission is to ensure every child gets the best start in life and that young children with SEND have equality of opportunity to learn, play and succeed. Our centres are all rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted and we were nominated for an Impact Award after the first national lockdown, when 60% of families told us that we were the only organisation to offer support to them. 95% of our children make developmental progress each year, a level we have achieved since 2015. 100% of families feel less isolated and more positive thanks to our support.
