Description
Penrith Pumas WRC The head coach is the reason behind Penrith Pumas. Gary was medically discharged from the Armed Forces back in 2000. After going through a dark time in his life suffering from depression and attempting suicide twice, he came across a military charity called Future For Heroes F4H. Gary attended a 4 day life changing course in 2015 which turned his life around. In 2018 Gary was inspired by Triple Amputee Mark Ormrod during the Invictus Games to put himself forward for Team UK Selection. After winning Gold at the UK Trails, Gary looked for a local club to train with and was disappointed there was nothing around. So he took it upon himself with the support of his Wife to create the very first Cumbrian Wheelchair Rugby Club.
