Don’t Walk Past Manchester

Who we are

Description

We are a voluntary outreach group, who go out to Manchester city centre & surrounding areas, five nights a week, to feed, clothe, talk to & provide essentials for our homeless friends & struggling families. We provide food parcels to those who need them. We rely on our members for donations. All the outreach teams, cooks, cake makers & pick up drivers are volunteers, who give up their time & money to do what they do. The cooks & bakers provide all their own ingredients. We were doing around 50 meals, per night, before the pandemic. Now we’re doing around 70 hot meals, plus sandwiches & whatever we get donated from Greggs. More & more homeless are returning to the streets, which is really sad. We are constantly asking for donations. One of our biggest things is sleeping bags. We just can’t get enough of them. We try to make our homeless friends as prepared as we can, for their time on the streets, but with limited resources, it’s not always easy. But we do the best we can.
