Redditch Entaco Cricket Club

Who we are

Description

We are a sports club that has been providing cricket for the local community for nearly 175 years now.We are based in what is seen as a deprived area of the town and as such our membership is a very diverse multi cultural one made up of people from white, Asian and West Indian heritage with some 50 to 60 per cent being Asian. Consequently we find and encourage all people from less fortunate backgrounds to partake in cricket as an activity with a view to not only define for them a healthy and meaningful exercise but also to encourage a positive path in life both at our club and in life outside our club. Indeed we have a weekly session called Wicketz that has enabled people from ages of 9 upwards to come from roaming streets at night to become part of our junior section and then progress to adult cricket at the club and this has also seen up turns in their education and work life. All our funding has to be obtained by events grants or sponsorship and funds are always at a premium.
