Washington United Football Club

Who we are

Description

Washington United was established in 2001 and provides opportunities for children and adults in the North East of England to participate in football from ages 5 to 18+. We are a not-for-profit grassroots Club which puts the enjoyment of football over all else and encourage participation of people from all walks of life, our Club philosophy is "Football, Fun, Friends, Family." We are an ambitious Club with a strong bond with the local community and envision a future where, long term, our Club can provide the people of Washington, Tyne and Wear, a hub where they can participate in a wide number of sports, not just football but athletics and hockey for example. This hub will also encompass communal facilities such as a cafe and recreational grounds. Short to medium term we are looking to increase our provision for more inclusive football, such as walking football teams, promote the inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community and the inclusion of more female players and officials.
