Bow Foodbank
Who we are
Description
We’re a collection of individuals, businesses, and community organisations who are committed to reducing poverty in Tower Hamlets by building community resilience through food aid, individual support and bringing people together to find solutions. We're led by our community and are grounded in the belief that building empowered communities is just as important as providing tangible goods. We give food aid to prevent hunger whilst supporting people to access the financial, emotional and practical support they need to help them become more financially resilient and independent. We work with them directly, and in partnership with specialist local support services (some of whom are now based at the foodbank). Volunteers are at the heart of what we do. 400 local people support us each year as well as 600 corporate volunteers. We invest in making sure volunteers are trained well and supported so they can make an impact in their community.
