Fitzrovia Youth in Action (FYA) works with Camden's young people. Our objective is to help children and young people to feel part of their community and a sense of social responsibility; to increase their aspirations and overcome the barriers they face; to develop skills and experiences needed to progress to employment, further education or training. At the core of what we do is a desire to raise confidence and to show young people that they have talents and abilities to offer to a wider world. We have over a 24-year track record of coordinating projects designed to appeal to and equip disadvantaged inner-city young residents with a range of practical, social and community experiences and skills. We have a comprehensive service user journey that begins with sports and healthy living programmes run with local primary schools and community centres. We then encourage young people to volunteer on community projects or peer education projects, events which they organise themselves.
