Description
Local Brent people with a learning disability (LD), autism, mental Health & other long-term health conditions % family carers want to secure and expand a crucial building-based service where they enjoy self-advocacy, wellbeing and creative activities with wrap-around advice/support. They've developed untapped talents while overcoming cost-of-living & post-covid pressures; discrimination & exclusion. People trust us, sharing concerns about housing, benefits, domestic violence or safeguarding issues. Recently a singer with MH issues wanted to hit her neighbour over a missing Amazon parcel. We spent 40 minutes discussing ways to resolve it & helped her role play what she could say & do. She went away calmer. Brent Mencap has been passionate about a healthier & fairer Brent since1979. With an excellent local reputation & skilled staff, our well-being & creative activities were funded by local/national funders. We deliver excellent &unexpected results within tight, properly costed budgets.
