Who we are
Description
Offering five services to older lonely vulnerable people some with limited mobility, reaching around 930 people, comprising (1) car transport to hospital, GP, social and exercise clubs and shopping (2) One to one befriending in a lonely person’s home (3) three, weekly community cafés (4) handyperson for jobs around the home (5) gardening to keep it tidy and safe. Around 80 people attend our weekly cafés at three venues in the Basingstoke area, providing a cuppa and a bacon roll and entertainment such as games, New Age Kurling, Bingo, musical entertainment, quizzes. On three occasions we invited other charities providing appropriate information for older people including Citizens Advice, Hitting the Cold Spots Team from Hampshire County Council, NHS Specialist Falls Team.
