Who we are

Description

LYT is “so much more than a youth theatre” (participant) We use theatre as an intervention tool to build long-term wellbeing, positive relationships & increased opportunity for Lewisham young people aged 8-25 facing disadvantage. Our youth-led Creative Hub is a springboard for over 1000 participants annually to gain the skills, outlook & ambition to achieve their full potential, regardless of eventual career path. We offer: *FREE drama, performance & Backstage projects *Mentoring & referral pathways *Qualifications *Youth Volunteering *Work readiness training & Paid placements for 18+ *Masterclasses with leading artists, *Social Action initiatives to make a difference in the local community, *Food for families in poverty, *Access to creative space for emerging artists. We embed youth voice across our organisation, placing young people ‘centre stage’ as writers, directors, performers, producers and designers of creatively challenging and socially relevant theatre.
