Description
South West Blood Bikes (SWBB) is a volunteer led and run charity that provides an out of hours emergency courier service provided to the NHS across Devon. SWBB is the only Devon based Blood Bike charity to be registered with the Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes. The volunteers of SWBB transports Whole Blood, Pathology and Microbiology Samples, Donor Breast Milk, Medical Records and X-Rays, Medical Equipment, Test Kits, and medications including controlled drugs - in fact anything that is required urgently by a medical facility, providing it can fit on a motorcycle. We provide our services from 1700hrs to 0700hrs weekdays and provide 24-hour cover during weekends and public holidays. Our service is funded by donations from the general public, community groups & local businesses, some grant funding, along with volunteer fundraising.
