Me2 Club

Who we are

Description

Our mission is to tackle the challenges caused by isolation and exclusion of children, aged 5 to 19 years, with wide ranging additional needs and disabilities, regardless of a formal diagnosis, by enabling them to experience, and benefit from, a weekly mainstream leisure activity of their choosing. To achieve our objective we recruit, train and support passionate volunteer ‘buddies’ who are carefully matched to the child requiring their dedicated help. We were set up in 2003 by parents who wanted their children to have the same opportunities as their mainstream peers. We support children with emotional, physical, learning, behavioural or communication difficulties. Lacking opportunities to socialise children feel isolated and have low confidence and self-esteem, leading to a decline in their mental health. With a long and successful track record, we receive referrals from a wide range of sources including: health professionals, social workers, schools, activity leaders and families.
