Who we are

Description

The Aberdeen Reuse Community Fund was launched in 2024 by SUEZ recycling and recovery UK (SUEZ). The purpose of the Fund is to support schools and community groups to make environmental improvements, in support of social value, health and wellbeing, for the benefit of the wider community. The Reuse Community Fund is funded through sales from the reuse shop located at Hazlehead Household Waste and Recycling Centre (HWRC). The reuse shop sells pre-loved items for the home and garden, with around 80 tonnes of items diverted from disposal every year in Aberdeen. As part of a 25-year contract, SUEZ recycling and recovery UK works in partnership with Aberdeen City Council to manage the household waste that’s generated daily across the city. SUEZ operates a network of integrated waste management facilities including 4 household waste recycling centres, 1 reuse shop, 2 waste transfer stations, and a materials recovery facility. We believe that sustainability is the only business case.
