Southend-on-Sea Community Fund
Fund details & criteria
Fund purpose
As part of an initial 8-year contract to manage waste collections, street cleansing services and the household waste recycling centres, we have a commitment to deliver social value to the residents of Southend-on-Sea. The purpose of the Community Fund is to support community groups to make environmental improvements, which also support health and wellbeing for the benefit of the wider community. Organisations can apply for grants of between £1,000 and £3,000, with a total of £12,000 available through one funding round each year. In all cases the fund should support the project or activity directly through obtaining or purchasing equipment and supplies or towards training for the delivery of the projects. Exclusions from the fund – It will not be made available to applications primarily aimed at reducing operating costs or aimed at individuals, the purchasing of land and/or vehicles and buildings. All applicants will need to be formally constituted and must be not-for-profit organisations within the Southend-on-Sea City Council area and must be for the benefit of residents within the geographic Council area of Southend-on-Sea. Projects that match the Community Fund criteria will be shortlisted and then reviewed by representatives from SUEZ who will award the funds.
