This is an 'ACTIVE APPLY' fund. Strand 4 - Project Implementation and Delivery Fund purpose The Community Energy Fund is a grant programme designed to support projects that reduce carbon emissions and strengthen community resilience to the impacts of climate change. The fund enables communities within the borough to apply for financial support to deliver initiatives that lower energy consumption, increase renewable energy generation, and develop local solutions to energy demand and supply. Community energy focuses on collective action to generate, manage, purchase, or reduce energy use. Projects should demonstrate strong local engagement and leadership, ensuring that benefits are shared within the community. Projects must clearly show how they will reduce carbon emissions. This could include installing renewable energy systems, undertaking retrofit works to improve energy efficiency, encouraging behaviour change around energy use, or providing training and capacity-building that supports long-term reduction in energy consumption. A total of up to £15,000 is available per project, or a maximum of one-third of total project costs – whichever is lower. Funding can support: • Capital works (renewable energy installations, deep retrofit) • Core organisational costs (staffing, office expenses) • Project delivery costs (venue hire, project workers) • Project management and coordination Applicants should note that quotes for works and activities must be included as part of the application to demonstrate value for money.
